How to Style Spring Dresses

The first day of Spring is March 20th, that means we need to get prepared. I know Spring doesn't really have any stand-out fashion trends, but in fact, it does: Spring. Dresses. Spring dresses are the perfect way to spice up your wardrobe. Most of these can also be carried over to summer, so you're kind of getting a two in one. Spring is honestly the best time to wear dresses because its not too cold so you can wear mini or long dresses, and its not too hot so you can wear tight dresses without them sticking to you or feeling sweaty.

I know that it is sometimes hard to style a casual dress without it looking fancy. Don’t worry though! I got you! I’m about to tell you some of the best ways to style a casual spring dress! It’s actually super easy and such a great outfit to throw on when you are in a rush! Here are a few ways to style your favorite spring dress!

Throw on a pair of white sneakers.

This is the first step to style a spring dress causally. Obviously, an outfit requires a pair of shoes, and what better way to show off your casual dress than with casual sneakers! I prefer white sneakers such as Air Force 1's, Slip-On Vans, or High Top Converse. They are super comfortable and overall, they bring together an outfit in a clean fashion. They pair super well with any type of spring dress, whether its flowey, tight, one color, or floral! If you don't have a pair of white sneakers, you can obviously use any other sneaker you have.

Add some crew socks under your sneakers.

This may seem weird, but trust me it works. You don't have to pull them up to your knee like kids did in elementary school, rather, just leave them slightly bunched up at your ankle. This adds definition to the sneakers you are wearing and will make it clear that your outfit is casual. Here are a few examples of what I mean--^

Blow out your hair and add a headband.

Blowing out your hair has been a huge trend recently and I'm here for it. If you don't know how to give yourself a blow out, don't worry! You can just leave your hair down, straighten, or curl it. Having your hair done retains the classy aspect of dresses and make you look more put together. If you add a headband, you are pulling in the casual aspect of your look. You can even match the color of your headband to the color in your dress or your sneakers, to make a more cohesive fit.

Throw your hair in a loose bun or claw clip.

If you don't want to blow out your hair or simply don't have time, throw your hair in a messy bun! I like to use scrunchies and I also pull out some hair pieces in the front to make it a little more messy and cute. If you have a dry shampoo or any sort of volumizer, you can spray it in your roots to give you a little volume! Claw clips are also a great option. With these, I just pull some pieces of hair out in the front and leave the excess hair hanging out at the top.

Layer some light jewelry.

Jewelry really brings an outfit to the next level of chic. Personally, I like gold jewelry the best but depending on what you have in your closet, or your dress, you can really use any color! Its great to add a short necklace to accentuate your face and the neckline of your dress. I also love a good bracelet moment! I'm obsessed with these little gold beaded bracelets and they literally go with every outfit! I also love adding chunky hoops. If you plan on wearing a headband, chunky hoops are a great addition.

Handbagggggg.

I can't express my love for handbags anymore. Whether its a mini purse, a faux fur bag, or a little rattan pouch, they all add so much practicality and style to an outfit. They offer a bunch of storage for your wallet and phone when you go out but they really bring the whole outfit together. An extra bonus is that they look so cute in Instagram pictures. Here are my favorite handbag-dress combos:
